Format: Throughout the Summer there are 2 walks each month. There is a morning walk on the first Tuesday of the month and a whole day walk on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
The Tuesday walks are 3-4 miles in length and are usually no more than ½ hours drive away. Footpaths are used and they may be muddy, boots are advisable. The whole day walks go further afield and are often hilly.
The Tuesday walks continue throughout the year, however the whole day walks only take place between March and October.
10 members of the Walking group set off for their medium walk in September. The route took us along Meols Promenade towards Hoylake where we turned left and walked up King’s Gap to cross the main road and crossed the railway line. We then headed along the road behind the station and picked up a footpath which took us up to Saughall Massie Road. Turning left we made our way to the next footpath which led us across fields before we joined Birkenhead Road and walked along, over the railway at Meols Station, to turn into Dovepoint Road and made our way back to our starting point.
This was a new route for everyone but the weather remained fine and we had good views across to Hilbre Island and the Dee Estuary.
